City Deals
CityDeals, Gary Brinton City Deals ripped off thousands of businesses. Gary Brinton should not expect to buy a business without assuming some of its liabilities too

Internet & Web

City Deals ripped off our small business for nearly $1,000. After they sold vouchers and received the money up front, they some how managed to financially misuse many merchants money. They decided to close up shop.

Seven Peaks Waterpark owner, Gary Brinton, made a deal to acquire City Deals. However, as City Deals now says, they only acquired the "assets" and not the liabilities. After speaking with the "new" City Deals after the acquisition they have no intention of paying back any debts owed to merchant customers. If you go into acquiring a business that has debt owed to thousands of businesses and think you will not have any responsibility to that debt as the new business owner, you shouldn't be in business at all and are destined to repeat the same failure.

Additionally, we even received the following email:

# start of email #

"This letter is to inform you that CityDeals recognizes a current outstanding balance owed in the amount of $XXX and CityDeals fully intends to settle this balance.

To schedule a time to speak with us, please e-mail us at merchantsupport@citydeals.com. We will promptly reply to schedule a time to speak with you in more detail.

We appreciate your business and look forward to further communication."

# end of email #

However, City Deals refused to acknowledge it. The only way to make any "deal" with them is that we have to send them more business and as they get money back in then they'll pay the debt back. Why would anyone want to do business with someone that stole from them?

A little money is a lot to a small business. All other merchants should consider their options in taking action against such fraudulent business.
