My rip-off experience

Internet & Web

Hello, My very first experience on eBay was a bad experience. A small business that deals in old housewares and furniture had up for auction a six foot throne chair, represented as being in excellent condition.

At auctions' end, I was the second-highest bid at $960. A day later, the owner of this company sent me an email offering to sell me a duplicate throne, at my bid price, $960., plus an additional $188. For shipping. I accepted. To make a short story long, the throne that I received was defective.

My throne lost it's crown, and was replaced with another
crown that didn't even match or mest with the original section. The crown is the top one foot of the back section, of the throne. These thrones are hand-carved, so no two thrones are exactly alike.

Once a throne is damaged, it's almost impossible to find the perfect replacement piece. Previously damaged and repaired thrones sell on eBay for under $500.. Perfect thrones bid closer to $1000.. I contacted the seller, he played dumb. I still have the emails showing him playing dumb.

With his being silent about the actual condition of this throne, I was under the impression that I would be receiving a thone like the one in his auction, in excellent condition. A postal inspector called this bait-and-switch. Next, he offered me two inferior options

(1) keep the throne and receive a $200 rebate (2) return the throne for a $960. Refund, but, I would be responsible to pay for shipping both ways, nearly $400.. I've been to the Better Business Bureau, Attorney General of Missouri and the Postal Inspectors. You already know that I wasted my time with these agencies. The seller complained that he was offering me
a $200. Rebate, without me presenting him the proof. I presented him with photos, since then, he has completely ignored me. Thank you.
