Should be Ashamed

Linda Banks of ACA Recovery called me to say that a bill had been referred to them for collection. We stay up to date on all of our bills so I know we didn't owe anybody anything. They sent me a bill from 2009 where we supposedly signed up for an internet advertising package. We do our own internet advertising and knew I would never sign up for a vague service like this. They claim to have a recording of my agreement. I asked them to fax me a copy of the agreement. When I hadn't gotten it in 24 minutes, I called to say I hadn't gotten it yet. Linda told me she would be in a meeting for half the day. I asked if somebody else could send it to me. She said no.

I called back and asked for her supervisor. The woman answering the phone said it was she and her name was Lisa Carter (- surely none of these are their real names.) She told me nobody else could send me the copy of my agreement and that they were getting the recording of my agreement for these services (- something doctored up I am sure.) I told her this was fraud. She told me to get a life and just pay my bill. I started to tell her that her mother would be ashamed of her if she knew what she was doing, but she hung up on me after telling me to stop calling and harassing them or she would press charges on me! What a disgrace - these people should get jobs that don't involve scamming people. Shame on them!
