Aol Shoppers Advantage - Trilegiant Corp
Advantage/aol shoppers and trilegiant corp signed me up and charged me for shoppers program without my concent. Rip-off!

Apparently, according to AOL I pushed the #2 phone button while seeking aol land line help for the computer.in doing so I am told I automatically signed up for free AOL Shoppers Advantage at a cost of $79.99 per year. This was deducted directly from my checking account this past month along with my regular $19.99 AOL fee.

Because of my unknowning of the $79.99 fee the automatic withdrawl from my checking account was a returned item (unpaid) the $19.99 which I new of cleared. During this period I deposit another federal govt. Check for payment of another bill. At the same I contacted my bank who gave me the telephone number of AOL Shoppers Advantage to dispute the $79.99 charge (returned item to my account 1877 209 0226.

On 2/18/04 I contacted same and spoke with Carolyn who was very helpful and cancelled the account and gave me a cancellation number. Furthermore, she gave me a fax number to send a letter of request to the company for the $30.00 reutrned item fee. To my surprise once again AOL Shoppers Advantage charged my checking account $79.99 on 2/23/04. Which caused 2 more of my checks be returned for a total now of $90.00 to my debit.

I once again contacted my bank on 3/01/04 s/w Jim who once again gave me the same number to call. I contacted Tammy who was a little on the nasty side and unwilling to help. I recalled my bank and spoke with Maurice. He said sometimes the company will call them directly. I recontacted Shoppers Adavantage now answering the telephone Net something. I then spoke with Sam who transfers me to a Supervisor (Erma).

Erma was as helpful as she could be but wanted me to get a copy of my bank statement send it in, wait 10 to 15 days and still have to re-fax the information to have the return item fees returned. Erma and I tried to contact the bank via a three way confrence call but the banks lines were tied up. She told me she would type all the information into the computer and I could call back and speak with any supervisor. At 10:30 AM (now 2 hours of phone conversations/contacts. I was finally connected to a supervisor Monica. Her first reponse was that I had to wait 10 15 days for a refund.

Now this was my question to all if I called on 02/18/04 and cancelled recieved a cancellation number, WHY am I being recharged for a cancelled account on 02/23/04? No one could give me that answer not even this supervisor. With the bank now on line and all three of us speaking Monica became harrassing and berligerent. The bank personnel was not going to stay on the line for this abuse. This call ended with no resolve.

At 11:20 the same day I recalled to speak with another Supervisor on the advise of my bank. I recalled and spoke with Becky who transfered me to a supervisor. Unfortunately it was once again Monica, after several requests I asked to speak with her supervisor. After being on hold for 10 minutes Monica returned to tell me I needed to speak with Kathy Comnner who was unavailable.

The only thing I could do was to leave a voice mail for Ms. Connor to contact me. On 03/04/04 finally a credit was given to my checking account but the bank charges connected with this AOL flaw still need to be paid. From what I understand these amounts come from another acount or bank. So lets see what happens to those amounts. I any instance it took me from 8:30 am to 12 noon an entire morning to straighten out a problem that may still not be resolved.
