Tried to sell merchandise using fraudulent UPS payment scheme

Internet & Web

After I bid on an item on eBAy, this person wrote and told me that he was an honest businessman and could save me money on the item that I wanted. I immediately felt a scam coming on but followed through to see what it was. He later sent me an official looking email from UPS indicating that I could pay for the item using a money order and that he had shipped the item but UPS was holding it for confirmation that payment had been made. The scam included UPS holding the money until I was satisfied with the merchandise. I contacted UPS and sent them a copy of the email using their official looking site. UPS advised that the information did not come from UPS. The information sent to me looked very official like a UPS web page.
