Pornography in Your Stores

Hastings EntertainmentI, along with many other customers, was disheartened to see that you are now selling pornography. I’m aware that you are a business and you have many responsibilities and goals to obtain but of those goals and responsibilities, your business ethics should be at the top. You are a family entertainment store, there should be nothing in there rated highly inappropriate, especially mixed in with sections that children can just walk by and see.

Given, Amarillo is in the Bible belt, so socially you are going to be accustomed to more complaints in this area about, but by doing this everywhere you are simply selling out. When new technology arrives that stuns your business, by no means does that mean stoop down. If you really wanted to be a pornography distributor then there would be a ‘Hastings X’ or something designated for that. But since you are just now doing this in order to adjust, you’re dropping your standards and ignoring the fact that this is not ok with many of your long time customers.

This is my plea; PLEASE STOP your distribution of pornography in your stores. Continue on with your original market to people of all ages and families and become more creative and innovative when times get tough. Sincerely,
