Deceptive advertising - they advertise free download, but after scan they offer a fix but only if you pay

Internet & Web

These people are only one tip of a large iceberg. I have seen others who do the same thing. First they offer something free (implying that it is totally free), but then when you take the trouble to download their software, then let them scan your computer, you end up with a long list of "problem files". You are then given the option via radio button reading "FIX". When you click the "fix" they then show a price you need to pay for the "free" service. This kind of deceptive advertising is rampant on the internet. It's easy to fix by refusing to hit the pay button, then uninstall the program. It is 1 - Annoying to waste the time on something you thought was totally free, and 2 — discourages those legitimate companies who might offer something free (just to get you to read the ads on their site).
