Best Buy
Scam and junk emails received since Best Buy clerk told me my email address was "required"

Internet & Web

I kept my working email address private for years, and always used a second email account for commercial purposes. But, when I purchased an anti-virus program recommended by Best Buy the check out clerk told me I had to provide my email address in order to "register" the software.

I should have refused, but I gave her my real email address. Huge mistake. Ever since then I have been receiving scam and junk emails, many seeking to obtain my personal information, banking information, asking for help transferring money into the U.S. And other disgusting scams.

Screw Best Buy for having their clerks lie to customers to obtain their email addresses, and then selling the addresses to sleazy low-life scammers.
