Reverse Search company charging credit card and refuse to Immediately Cancel Internet

Private Phone Agent (www.privatephoneagent.com) is a on-line "REVERSE PHONE LOOK-UP" search company. I was trying to do some research for a position listed that provided their phone number and city but no name was given.

I did a look-up and they indicated they found information and for $1.00, they would give me the name, address and other pertinent information. I put my Credit Card information into the system "AFTER" they said the information was available.

Once I paid the $1.00, I discovered they DID NOT have any information and I requested a refund. They said they do not give Refunds and 2 hours later, they sent me a E-mail informing me that my Credit Card is going to be charged an additional $18.99 a month for their wonderful service and I demanded cancellation of whatever service they fail to provide and they told me they can not cancel for another 48 hours.

I believe they are stringing me along and refusing to cancel in hopes I miss this extended window and they continue to charge my account AGAIN AND AGAIN.

I requested their physical address and all they would tell me is they are located outside the United States.

They have a "Live On-Line Chat" and actually have "HOT KEYS" to automatically type statements (ie. You must log into your account after 48 hours and confirmyour cancellation by following the instructions that will appear in a REDOUTLINED BOX at the top of the page. Your account will not be cancelled untilyou take this final step.)

I am going to deny the charges at my bank when they open today, but I am 100% sure they have collected from many people and do not provide a service worth the charges and there is no one to stop them from continuing.
