It started with a friendly TV advertisement about making money at home and get free information. My wife and I went to the website which linked to another site asking for a $2.95 processing fee. I never go the free information kit either by email or regular mail. Ten days later a charge of $129.95 hit my bank account from Kwik ShopZ. I called my bank and they could identify the phone number associated with the charge. I finally found Kwik ShopZ phone number on the internet and unsuccessfully was unable to contact them to find out what this is as I did not authorize it and was NOT called out clearly anywhere on the web page. I filed a dispute with my bank at which they temporarily reversed the charge. I got another letter from my bank with correspondence from Kwik ShopZ stating that this was a valid charge and it was too late to cancel.
I responded again that this was a unauthorized charge. Apparently this was for a Web based business starting your own website. This is not what I signed up for. I signed up for a free information kit which I never recieved and that this charge was wrong. Unfortunately my bank charged the $129.95 back to my account. Fortunately when I first reported this my bank cancelled my card and reissued new ones in order for no future charges from Kwik ShopZ. Kwik ShopZ is apparently using false and misleading information on the initial website which linked directly to their membership site and end up signing up for what was not originally stated. A sneaky marketing ploy to trap people in burying facts in very small hard to read fine print. Please let consumers be aware of this company's marketing tactics which cost consumers like me out of our hard earning money.
