Tim Vanderhook Specific Media has Ripped off their Advertisers, their Publishers and 10's of millions of consumers through Fraud, Espionage, and more

Do not do business with SpecificMedia!!! They are the biggest crooks in the industry, asides from cheating their customers, both advertisers and publishers, they also engage knowingly in corporate fraud and espionage, such as having employees like some of their sales people who used to work at Advertising.com ILLEGALLY call into their former employer's sales meetings to gleam information.

They also profiteered illegally and unethically by taking behavioral data from publishers and using it without both the publishers and consumers knowledge on behalf of their advertising clients, including one of the largest automotive companies in the world, who also knew what they were doing and went along with it til some astute people figured it out and they tried to just deny their way out of it

... The founder's claim to fame was "inventing the pop-under ad", which he certainly didn't do since it existed well before 2001 - and as an aside what a douchebag of a claim to make anyway, but to make matters worse, the type of ad he created was the most annoying as it would intentionally shake on your screen and make it as hard as possible for a user to close out, many times loading the close window outside of the screen space so that the user would have to REBOOT their computer or hit control alt-delete and close their browser in order to close the window.
