I needed a tax ID # for my newly created teambuilding/motivation business. I went on line under irs. Gov I could not find the search button for the ss4 form. I decided to put ss4 into Google. One of the first sites to come up had easy to read forms and was listed as taxidSimpleFilings.com I filled out the form and came to the payment page. I saw that the fee was $128 for a tax ID # and $50 if I wanted it guarenteed within 24 hours. I was a little surprised that it was that expensive. I also knew I needed the number within 24 hours as my only chance to go to the bank within the next two weeks was the next afternoon. I decided to take my chances and not pay the extra $50.

My tax ID number arrived within 5 minutes. I had been concerned with the signature page as it did not look like my true signature however I am not a frequent web user for this type of interaction and I thought the federal government must have worked something out.

You do not need to pay anything for a tax ID number.
Do not use the hermeris/taxidsimplefilings web site!!!
They are completely unethical!!!
I hope I learned to check on a situation like this first in the future.
