Don't Buy Your Whiskey Barrel Planters from Kentucky Barrels

I needed a quote for insurance purposes to replace two whiskey barrel planters that were damaged by a neighbor. I went to the Kentucky Barrels website to price out their barrels. They listed the purchase price for the barrels, but not the shipping costs. I thought I would order the barrels just to get to the page where it lists all of your costs, including shipping. However, they never provided that page. I received a confirmation of my order — without me confirming that I wanted to place the order! I immediately called them to cancel the order, as I did not want to place it at that time. I got their voice mail and I left a very detailed message as to who I was, why I was calling, and I specifically told them to cancel the order as I did not want to place it. I never heard anything until 5 days later when I received an e-mail that my order was being shipped! I, again, immediately, e-mailed them to say that I had called previously to cancel the order, as it had gone through by mistake and that I was going to notify my MasterCard to this effect. I made it explicit that they should cancel the order, not ship it, and that I would not be responsible for anything they might ship to me. I received the following response: "You placed an order. We will not go to the trouble of canceling and refunding the order.in the future if you want a barrel, order from another company." About 3 minutes later another e-mail was received from them: "We did have to keep a small processing and restocking fee. The remainder has been refunded." If they had listened to my voice mail message 5 days earlier they wouldn't have had to process or restock anything. This is one of the worst cases of lousy customer service I have ever come across. I will fight this through my MasterCard. But, if you're thinking of buying whiskey barrel planters — GO SOMEWHERE ELSE (just like they told me to)! And they wonder why we don't buy "American"...
