Beware Boingo's download option - Boingo Wireless

I stupidly purchased a one-hour internet service at the Newark airport and downloaded their software. The software interferes with my Firefox browser and so I tried to get rid of Boingo—to no avail. When I try to throw the Boingo application in the trash, I cannot, because it is "in use". But there is no way to close it down, not even by turning off my computer and restarting. It is very sneakily designed to be there forever.
