Another Radioshack Rebate Ripoff I sent in all the required crap as soon as I got home with the compaq computer that I bought in December. A few months later the radioshack rebate center sent me a card saying I did not send in upc codes. I don't know how they got my rebate form without the upc cause they were put in the envelope. So I made copies of the copies I had and resent them waiting another 6 weeks expecting a rebate.

When it didn't come I called the rebate center and they said I did not qualify for the rebate cause the computer I bought was a refurbished one. I called the radioshack where I bought it and they told me to call back and talk to a supervisor so I did.

The supervisor told me I did qualify and would get the rebate in 4 weeks. So I waited. Still no rebate and the rebate center said I did not qualify so I went into the radioshack and they again sent my paperwork by fax assuring me I would get a rebate. So I waited still no rebate.

I called the rebate center they told me too late that the offer was over. This, after I had spent hours calling and sending in stuff they makeup a too late date. At first they said may 8 then the next time I talk to them they say the too late date was May 23 they kept changing it on me. So I know they lied from the begining. They had no intention of sending me a rebate.

I went into radioshack and told them to stop selling the computers with the lower price tagged on it cause whoever buys it will not get a rebate. They have been notified that there is no rebates but they still are doing the same dishonest practice.

There must be away to stop this kind of ripoff. If they intend to give a rebate why don't they give it when you buy it instead of making people spend time and money trying to get it for nothing. This is what is so aggrevating about it. I didn't need to waste time and money mailing in crap just to get zelch.
