Time Warner, Socal Time Warner Cable Incorrect billing, unfounded collection practices, attempts to ruin personal credit

After extremely poor service, I canceled my business internet account with Time Warner. I attempted to cancel the service through their business team, but unfortunately, their business team is not available for business. After many attempts to contact them over the phone, a letter of cancellation was sent via certified mail in May.

Even with a letter of cancellation, Time Warner continued to issue statements. Again, any attempt made to contact them was followed with excuses from their customer service department who 'regretfully, cannot assist with business accounts.' Unfortunately, their business department is even more difficult to reach.

After three months of statements, we recieved a collection notice from North Shore Agency, Inc, stating that we owed over $750. This bill was for over five months of service plus a fee for 'unreturned equipment.' Not only are they billing me for service that I canceled, but for equipment that is not theirs. For business accounts, they make you either purchase the router up front, or sign a two contract. Either way, the equipment is yours upon completion of the service agreement. This is different from their residential service where the equipment is simply 'provided' but not sold.

After writing North Shore Agency and Time Warner, and explaining that no payment will be made since the account is in dispute, two months later, another collection notice from Credit Management, LP was recieved. Again, a letter to both Credit Management and Time Warner was issued, explaining that the account is in dispute. As before, no response from either party.

Keep in mind, that the Fair Credit Reporting Act states that a company must provide a consumer proof of charges which are being collected. As you can imagine, I haven't recieved any explaination from Time Warner explaining where they get these amounts from nor have they provided me any proof that the equipment is not mine.

Finally, I recieved yet another collection notice. At this point I will be writing a letter to the Office of the President at Time Warner:

If Time Warner fails to resolve this matter and continues to attempt to collect an unfounded amount, I will seek legal action against Time Warner.
