Ripped me off for $74.97 after charging $2,97 for so called "membership"

Internet & Web

This company charges $2.97 for access to a website (which is very poor and provides no real advice - just tells you to think about names for your blog website). The company then deducts $74.97 from your bank account after three days if you have not contacted them by phone to cancel your membership.

They do not make it clear that the $2.97 is for a 3 day trial and that a further charge of $74.97 will be made.

And if you do read the fine print that says this you cannot get through to dispute the charge unless you are prepared to wait on the phone line for over an hour listening to horrible soft rock music that pauses all the time so you think someone is going to answer.

If you manage to endure this and get to speak to someone they tell you that you knowingly agreed to the membership fee and they argue with you and refuse to give a refund saying it is your fault. Even if you call ONE DAY after your so called 3 day trial.

Then they cancel your membership which means you can no longer access their website. However you have to say the magic words "I want to cancel my membership" even for that to happen. The operator does not give prompts and works on the basis that the customer must be kept uninformed at all times.

So for over $80 you have visited a substandard website and cannot get your money back. 100% SCAM.

The only recourse is to contact your bank or credit card and file a dispute. Lots of wasted time, frustration and anger caused by a very dishonest company. This website should be closed down immediately and the company should be prosecuted for fraud.
