Non-secure website, possible fraud

I placed an order for some Persol sunglasses on decormyeyes.com. They didn't have a way to select sizes on the order form, so I called customer service at (800) 995-9373 and spoke to 'Melissa' to complete my order.

About an hour later, from the same number, Melissa called me back to make sure the order was legit, as my billing and shipping addresses were different (the item was a gift). She wanted to confirm that I was the person whose name was on the card. Since I had already talked to her officially at the company, I figured it was okay to give her my address and birthdate. I was told I would receive a confirmation and shipping email immediately after the call. I never did.

Less than 6 hours later, fraudulent charges appeared on my credit card, a $1200 flight on Air Canada and about $200 from some internet home goods website, and a construction company in Texas. Two of these charges required the card's three digit security code to complete.

I figured that there was a breach in the security of decormyeyes.com, as I haven't made an internet purchase on that card in several months, and haven't used it for anything but gas in the last month. I called customer service again, figuring they'd want to know about such a security problem. I was treated with disrespect and dismissiveness. I was told the site was secure and "what do want us to do about it?" They were not interested in hearing the details of my problem.

A legitimate company would want to know that they couldn't secure their customer info. This fact, and the timing of the fraud after Melissa's so-called security call, leads me to believe that Melissa or someone else at the company used that information to make fraudulent charges. I have seen several other reports of this company's shenanigans, and I would recommend avoiding ordering from this site.

By the way, I go to great lengths to secure my computer and home internet connection, and often use credit/debit cards online. I am the only living person that I've never had a problem with this before dealing with decormyeyes.com.
