Internet & Web

All I can say based on my own experience is: beware! It's true that PPD charges a membership fee which I don't think is unreasonable for the information and training materials included. However, the member's only web page contains a "Bonus Pack" which is offered at $19.95 OR you can sign up for an offer on a page containing several of them, to which you are directed from the member's only page; so thinking there might be something of interest there and that it certainly wouldn't be more than $19.95 I decided to sign up for a "credit card".

It turned out that the "credit card" - for a company called Provincial Trust - could only be used for that companies goods and a $7,500 line of credit, but the catch was that the initial cost was $129.95! PLUS a monthly charge of $9.95. A long way from the $19.95 alternative. Additionally, there was no indication of any of these costs on the sign-up page.

I was furious and e-mailed PPD to protest, only to be told that the website was completely independent of PPD (but you are directed there by the PPD member's page!). I then e-mailed the company and was given a number to call to revoke my payment. They would refund my payment but would keep a $35 "cancellation fee". THIS is the scam! Next call the Better Business Bureau!
