Talkcity, since purchased by Mzinga Corp has gone down the tubes. Once touted as the chat server of choice, it's turned into the chat server that will take your yearly fee of $50 and run with it. The customer service reps do nothing but deal with mundane room owner issues. They do not deal with true issues related to the server or their services.

This site charges a yearly fee of $50 to own a room and $7.77 to use IRC. Yet they disabled the majority of features allowed on IRC's. And the fee for rooms is for what? They have not made upgrades in years. They made changes to the forum that actually took away features for room owners. Additionally the changes they have made blocked many users from accessing the server.

They expect room owners to solicit friends, family, other servers to bring chatters to their server, but they will lock anyone that advertises for any other sites. They have locked out trusted volunteer support staff and are now relying on "problem" room owners to drive up their numbers.

This site needs to just shut down. Stop taking money and giving nothing in return. They currently have 300 rooms, charging $50. There is no way it costs that much to run this antiquated server. So what are they doing with the money?

I've given many years to this company, including the prior company by the same name. But I will no longer support a server that just takes money and gives nothing in return.

This site is NOT what it once was. Do NOT buy services from this site, and I use the term services VERY lightly.
