$117.43 for $2.35 charge... RIP-OFF Internet

Talked to person @ grantsmoney, they assured me of $1.95 charge ($2.35 CAN actual) so I gave visa #. I received confirmation of 1.95 charge dated May 6th.
I spoke with person first time on May 8th... (not May 6th!)

On my recent visa statement charges of $2.35 & $69.12 on May 6th and $45.96 on May 7th appear. Strange that our first communication was on May 8th! So they got me for $117.43 Canadian dollars. Since then no one has replied to my emails, and one email address seems ficticious, their support@ site. Numerous calls to their refund department has yielded nothing.

Have cancelled visa card (inconvenient to say the least)
Have been informed by Visa that even though card is cancelled grantsmoney CAN take more money for two weeks after cancellation date. (SCARY) But the company is refusing to cancel from May 8th onwards (I cancelled the kit later that day but they insist I didn't cancel!)
Do I Feel DUMB!!!

Somebody has to STOP companies like this... How do we do that?
