I put up an advertisment for someone to do a simple logo for my site. I was very specific about what I wanted. I was contacted by someone by the moniker Tom Collins (that should have been a red flag when a person is trying to do business under an alias).
He said he could do the work for me and demanded the full fee up front (another red flag). I told him no I could paypal him half. So he agreed. A few hour later, I got an email from Tom Collins saying the logo was complete and he wanted me to pay him the balance before I saw the completed logo (a third red flag). I told him I wanted to see the completed logo first. He emailed it to me and it wasn't what I wanted all all. It was obviously thrown together. He offered a refund, and then he emailed back saying he wasn't going to give me the refund because I was "rude" to him. People, please don't get taken by this scam artist.
