Not Refunding My Money

I purchased a product from Best Buy on January 6. Upon arriving at home I noticed that I had purchased the upgrade version of the software not the full version. So, on January 8 I returned the product. They refunded my money onto a gift card and not my credit card.

Then, I went over to one of the computers at the store and purchased the full version from their web site. The associate could not print me an order confirmation but said that I would get one at my e-mail address shortly.

Upon arriving at home I had not gotten confirmation. After speaking with a representative at the 888 number it was told to me that the order had not been placed.

In need of the software I decided to purchase it from another vendor on-line. I received it no problem. So a couple of days later when I received the merchandise from Best Buy I promptly returned it to the store. They told me they would have to issue me a gift card since that's how I had paid for it.

Well... I never got my gift card in the mail. So, I contacted Consumer Relations at Best Buy HQ. They told me that they would credit my purchase to my credit card ($333.08) promptly. And today is February 27 and I have yet to get my purchase price credited to my credit card. I've contacted the Better Business Bureau and they tell me that since the company is saying they credited my credit card there is nothing they can do.

The Attorney General in my state is telling me that this falls outside of the scope his office is able to help me with.

Does anyone have any other suggestions... Short of hiring my own attorney? Hiring my own attorney would cost me more than the $333 that I am rightfully due!
