To keep it simple, my company was commissioned to work with this company to complete the following - logo, magazine ad, and website. Our company charges at a rate of $75 an hour for design work but we build that into a invoice since hours cannot be tracked. So we started off by designing a logo, which is where we normally start and usually takes about a couple days to complete depending on revisions. Months later we were still working on the same logo with tweaks here and there keeping our mouth shut. Then apparently a opportunity arose to them to put an ad in an international traffic magazine, so i requested the specs for the magazine to get started. Also what verbiage was to go on the ad. They sent me a link for the specs and nothing for the actual ad. Then we asked repeatedly to get the information to be used on the ad over and over. We finally got it about 6 hours before the magazine deadline. We then proceeded to drop everything and get this magazine ad completed, because we understand deadlines. After completing both the logo and magazine in the short amount of time, we submitted it directly to the magazine company located in England. After everything was completed and submitted, even with the ridiculous deadline, we were shortly informed after that they do not see why they have to pay for our services. They then asked for the raw files of both the logo and magazine ad. Like other design firms (any real company) we will not produce files without some sort of payment. Technically we should have never sent the actual ad to London to be produced. Anyway we wrote this to inform other potential design companies to be cautious with working with Platesmart aka Cyclops Technology.
