Stay away from Globat.com. They're horrible!

I recently took over a website that was hosted at Globat.com. From day one, I had nothing but problems. For a period of time spanning a couple of months, I had to contact them daily to resolve technical issues. When it came time to renew the hosting service (October), they double-charged my credit card. They charged me twice for the exact same service. Immediately, I tried to contact them for a refund. Their customer service department is outsourced to a company in the Philippines who do nothing more than send an email back to someone at Globat. After several days of trying to get a refund, I got a response from Globat that my refund would be processed in mid-January. What? That's more than 3 months away! I was outraged. This was nothing more than a stall tactic. They know darned well that you can't dispute a credit card charge after 90 days. I demanded a "more timely" refund. After anther week of emails and "live chats" I received a response that they would make an exception in my case and would be issuing me a refund the following week. When the "following week" came and went and still no refund, I contacted them again. After two days of live chats and emails, they told me the refund would be in the form of a check and that it would take 10 to 14 days for me to receive this check. Well, after a month passed and no check showed up, I finally disputed the charge with my credit card company.

They also send out weekly emails telling you about some wonderful service they offer. CAUTION! If you do not "opt out", they will charge you for these additional useless services, often times costing hundreds of dollars! If you happen to be away from your email account for a couple of days, you're going to get charged for these services you did NOT request. Take it from me (and over 320 other people who filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau) they do not issue refunds!

If you're already a customer and have any billing issues, immediately notify your credit card company and let them handle the dispute for you.

Please, do NOT give your business to this company. They are rip-off artists. They will charge you for services you did not request and will never issue you a refund. Stay far away from this company. There are many more reputable companies with far superior services and technical support for less money! Personally, I like GoDaddy. Very reasonable and there's always someone to talk to at the other end of the line.
