Will not refund my credit card for two automatic renewals. Even though second automatic renewal and my refund requests was within 24 hours. Provo Utah

Internet & Web

What was supposed to be learning experience for my children and me has turned into a nightmare. I am not rich. I could not even afford it. But so that my children can do research into their history I got a 3 month subscription to Ancestry.com. I did not want more. I did not need more. Ancestry.com offer different subscription amounts. If I wanted to keep it I would have ordered a year's subscription. It is cheaper. So I requested a refund for the first automatic renewal. They refunded me $33.90 of $50.95 and gave me the offer to use the subscription until 9/30/08. I was not happy but what can I do. Well when I opened my credit card statement there was second automatic renewal. The renewal was one day before I was issued a credit. Not once did Ancestry.com mention a second renewal when we were conversing about the first renewal. Now they are saying I would had to have cancel my renewal 2-3 business days before the renewal. Which I may well have done, it just that my cancellation was through their web site and I don't have a copy of that email. I don't want anyone else to be ripped off like this. Please note: Ancestry.com have the automatic renewal in their terms & conditions not up front where you can see it. How many people get through all of the terms & conditions on a web site. I think someone should make them put it on the payment page or they not automatically renew the subscriptions. I can not afford to pay a bill for a service I am not using. I am currently not working, I have 3 children and my Mother who is on a fixed income living with me. I will never use Ancestry.com again and I will not suggest anyone else do either.
