The company publishes job postings on craigslist or other online ad boards for marketing positions (or possibly other related positions).in this case, the ad was for a an "A&R Representative". Their ad reads:

2 Years Marketing Experience

And then asks you to reply to the provided email address. When I submitted my resume and cover letter, I was sent an auto responder email that said to be considered for employment I must follow all three steps as outlined in their email. The first step was to go back to their website and fill-out an online form.in that form, they ask you to cut/paste your entire resume into a very unprofessional little box. After you submit that, you are taken to Step 2 where they ask you to submit to a background check. For that, they tell you to pay $45.00. They do not tell you the basis of this check nor do they tell you how the check is performed, what they are looking for, or any other details. They just want $45.00 to apply for this job. They are running these ads all over the Internet and it is clear that they have no inetntion of actually hiring a real person.

Their website looks very unprofessional for a record company as it's littered with porn ads and barely functions and navigates properly. They never state anywhere in their advertising or emails that they will be charging you to apply for a job with them and are collecting all of your personal information prior to asking you for money knowing that the majority of people will never pay for this background check. An immediate investigation into this organization is needed immediately by local or federal organizations.
