I will basically just copy what I wrote directly to the company. I just wanted to let you know that you've lost a customer for life and possibly many more after I write the review that Ill put forth on various websites and give service advice to family and friends. This is in no way to be a threat towards you, but a detailed complaint that I'd like to forward to Charter so they know how one of there customers now feels about the integrity of their service.

I was a Charter customer for awhile when I was in school obtaining my degree. One day before I moved away, I walked into Charter with my current roommate at the time, made a payment for what was owed on the account, signed papers to move the service to his name, and went on my way. We all chipped in for the payment and it was made after the billing date had ended so that I wouldnt have to give them my new address and get another bill.
I was paid in full and the roommate was going to take over the rest of the payments.

Now, 6 months later, I get a letter in the mail from CPA saying that I owe Charter money and have been reported to a credit collection agency. I call CPA right away and put it on dispute as thats all you can do besides actually make the payment. I then call Charter to discuss my dilemma.

The outcome from Charter is you will make the payment. Maybe not said in those exact words, but clearly defined by 2 of the people I talked to. The Charter representative stated that I needed a receipt for the money that I paid and that I need to go to a local Charter store and prove I paid that amount. I should not have to keep a receipt of $21 for 6 months.

The only proof I have is introducing you to the person I was with at the time as well as the person I handed the money to I have never received a letter or bill from Charter to this day since I moved. I have checked my mailbox where I currently live as well as asking the roommate who still lives at the house if Ive received anything.

Ive never gotten an email, which Charter should have on account, a phone call, which Charter also has on account, or a bill in the mail at the new or old addresses. I also have auto pay set up with my bank account and there was no bill that came through there like there was every month. I finally just gave up and paid the amount to CPA.

I just wanted to pass my 2 cents onto Charter to let them know how they served me as a customer.
