Notebook Model NX570X is GARBAGE. Irvine

Bought a brand new Gateway notebook in August. The model is NX570X. The warranty period ends August.

Since I purchased it, the hard drive has crashed. They sent me a new one, which I installed.

Next, the keyboard keys were sticking. I sent the notebook back (at a cost of approximately $45.00) and they 'replaced' the keyboard. Within 2 weeks of getting the notebook back - guess what - the keys were sticking again. I called Gateway to report it, but said I had no intention of sending it back - if they couldn't fix it right the first time, I had no faith that they could repair it correctly the second time. I won't even get into how they sent it back to me - that's a whole separate story.

Now the monitor has a line going through it. I called Gateway in the hopes they would at least pay the shipping costs to send it back, since one of the issues is a repeat issue. But I was outside of the 30 day warranty on the keyboard replacement, so I would have to pay to send it back. I tried escalating it and supposedly spoke with a supervisor. He would not budge. He even went so far as to diagnosis the monitor issue and tell me the line going through the monitor is a crack and I would have to pay for a new display. I guess he's smart enough to see my monitor. It sure doesn't feel like a crack. The monitor is uniformly smooth all over.

While this piece of garbage is still under warranty and repairs SHOULDN'T cost me anything, I am irritated that after so many problems that they will not send me a free shipping label. How's that for good customer service?

Within less than 1 year, I've had 4 things go wrong: hard drive, keyboard, monitor and keyboard.

Avoid Gateway at all costs.
