Www.freerecordsregistry.com comes up as the first paid advertiser on google.com; according to one online source they generate 1,000, 000 hits per month (Quantcast.com). First of all they advertise their service as a free background check search engine, and of course that is totally false.

Furthermore, they tell you it is the most comprehensive background check on the web, searching from employment history to death/birth records. However you have to pay an online fee to use this service, being the sucker I am, I paid the $29.95 yearly fee for "unlimited" access to their services. The service do not work, at all!!! I searched for over 15 people who I know died, have criminal backgrounds, or have gone through divorces; the site turned up nothing!

Basically, once you pay for the site it becomes www.gov-records.com, then www.recordsarea.com once your logged in to the members area. They don't provide any useful information and the worse part is it is hard to get contact info. I did find out that Clickbank.com takes the money, so I contacted support@clickbank.com several times before someone got back to me. The email address of the person who can reverse the charges is aja@clickbank.com. I also contacted clickbank.com's marketing firm Metzger Associates. Hope this helps the others who were mislead and/or ripped off by freerecordsregistry.com.
