Has been ripping off my bank account for two long years. Victimized many consumers

Internet & Web

I have been talking with them for over a year but still they only taunt me on the phone

I have faxed copied of my bank statements showing where they have taken the money out of my account. The say they did not get them. I e-mail and am told to call. I call and am told to e-mail or fax to Special Services at 904-232-4700. I have faxed my information twice, over 20 pages.

The last time I called they said I should have been paying more attention to my checking account. I have incurred over $1000.in just overdraft fees and I cancelled my AOL account in December of 1999.

The last thing I did was on Oct. 23. I asked them for a specific name of someone I could talk to. They send me the standard number (800-827-6364) and then the person I get to talk to tells me I'm confused and then he threatens to send me a bill for service he says I haven't paid for.

I talked to one person back in May he looked up everything and confirmed that I cancelled in Dec. 1999 and confirmed that I had been charged from then until March. The only way I finally got them to quit taking money out of my account was to sign papers at my bank and the bank said that wouldn't quareentee it would stop. I need help getting my money back. I do not see how it can be legal, what they are doing, I talked to a lawyer and he was too chicken to do anything about it. I thing there is more than enough evidence that this is a world wide scam.

Their ex-partner (AOL Talk America) is another one. They charged me for 1 1/2 year for another persons phone bills. They too owe me money and I am getting the same run around from them, it is scarey how similiar the treatment is from both of these companies. Isn't it funny that both of them have something to do with Time Warner?

AOL owes me approx. $575. Talk America owes me approx.$560. And that does not include the over draft fees I have had to pay because of unlawful theft from my account.

They ask why I did not pay attention and do something long before I did, well, it's not a good excuse but it is mine. I trust people too much, especially people in authority, my husband died in 1995 and I went through many, many years of depression when I did not open even one piece of mail let alone bank statements.

Can someone help me get my money back? I wonder if these companies can be taken to small claims court? I even sent letters to the Better Business Bureau and heard not a thing.

Thank you.
