Cumputer repair ripoff Houston Texas

Internet & Web

In October 07 I was having computer problems and call a local company for repair. They were very nice and quick to respond. They came quickly, worked on my computer and sold me a software program call CA for anti-virus. It was very expensive but I agreed to purchase it. The tech installed the software and left. Within 15 minutes of his departure both my laptop and desktop with the new software crashed.

For the next 3 days I was unable to reach anyone at the local number or in the New Jersey office that could offer any reasonable assistance. No one had any idea who I was. They hung up on me twice and put me on hold numerous times for 20-30 minutes at the time. Finally after 3 days of utter frustration the same tech came again and I promptly ask him to remove the CA software and refund my money ($95.00). He removed the software but to this day we have never been refunded the money.

It has been one argument after the other for months. The credit card company agreed to refund the charge and fight with Rescue.com. Now rescue.com is threating to sue us, turn us over to a collection agency and in general make our life miserable over a $95.00 piece of software that I don't even have on my computer. It seems that the original tech was angry about not making a commission on the software sell and never reported the removal, thereby leaving me as the licensed holder of that particular numbered software. A business tactic to steal from it's customers.

These people are an example of the worse kind of customer service that many of us experience these days. I highly recommend that no one every use this company for any computer problems. Remember the name "rescue.com". Run, don't walk from this company.
