Never delivered promised web design even after payment in foll

I see I am not the only one who has falled victim to this lousy sham of a company. Here's hoping we can put a stop to it. We continue to fight for a refund and I'm happy to say we may have a recourse.

This all began back in October when we contacted a company to help us design a new website for our up and coming company. The company we chose could not assist us as they were too busy and instead referred us to a service that allows you to post your project and a number of design companies would contact you to work on the project.

Unfortunately we happened to pick Origin3 Web Design. Their site is clean enough and their quoted prices were in range of what we were looking for (around $1300.00)

The contract was stated that we pay half up-front and then the following in the next 30 days. The project would be completed in 3 - 6 weeks after they received all the details about the site. Our price included content writing, a jаvascript picturedisplay (similar to flash but cheaper) and a fairly basic but clean website.

The company assigned a less than desirable project manager named Rob who lacked any real skill in communication or customer service and away we went. A few weeks later we still didn't hear anything and nothing to show.

I started getting antsy about 6 weeks into the project. (keep in mind I'm running a business with 500 people at this time, I don't have a lot of time to spend with these kinds of things...) I decide to inquire about the status and find out that they were waiting on us for something, I can't remember what, but anyway we deliver and they give us a prototype site to view and approve. Not bad, a little lack lustor but it's progress. We then tell them (after making a few changes and a few more weeks pass) that we're ready to go live with it.

Then magically Rob quits the company and they tell us they will have a new project manager assigned. We wait and nothing. We wait some more and still, nothing. Finally after a month or so I get an email from 'Dave" supposively the CEO stating that he's going to get right on it and get this completed. So, we wait some more. A few more weeks go by and I start getting mad. He emails back with the old "I'm so sorry, my grandmother just passed away and I've been out of town" email. Yeah like you can't pass it on to someone to complete in your absence. Grandma dies and the whole company screeches to a halt. There's a good business model.

Anyway, needless to say I reluctantly buy it and try to work with him some more. Let's just get the site going I say. Now to this day we have heard nothing. That was more than 2 months ago now. I betcha his grandma is still baking apple pies...

As of the writing of this letter we filed a complaint and a request for refund from Wells Fargo bank since we used our corporate card to pay for the service. We were initially denied by Wells Fargo stating that the complaint was filed too long after the services were to be rendered. We are appealing this as the reason we waited was in an attempt to resolve the situation by actually getting what we paid for rather than requesting a refund. We are awaiting a response from the bank now on the appeal but with the other entries I've seen here on this site I can't imagine why they would deny us again.

If you are doing business with this company...

Please protect yourself. Don't be fooled and please learn from our mistakes. Just get the refund now. Even if they do turn a few websites and make a few people happy, they are not a reputable business and whether they are a full-out scam shop or just a really bad business, they don't deserve your hard-earned money.
