Charged for a free evaluation Internet

Internet & Web

I was looking for a low cost PDF editor for a project that required only one usage of the product. On a google search I came on the web site "www.8-free.com". I saw that they had a product with a free 30 day evaluation so I downloaded it and made the mistake of buying a three year license, just in case I needed to use it again later.

The product did not work correctly. It crashed every time I tried to use it on a file more than 2 pages long. So I contacted the company and was told that since I reported the problem right away (1 hour) I could get a refund.

However the refund did not include the $9.95 shipping and handling charge. For a 2 minute download.

So, in summary, a free evaluation of a defective product will cost you $9.95
