Homeowner Media took money from my account without my authorization New Jersey

In short, here's what took place. I faxed Homeowner Media a check for $ 100.00 for exclusive rights to solicit their services to all For Sale By Owner customers within the Houston area. The check was for $ 100.00 only and signed by me. Homeowner Media changed the amount to $ 1297 and electronically withdrew the amount on 1/4/08 without my authorization causing my account to be severly overdrawn. Basically, once they have your account information then they can write a check for whatever they want when they want...

Since then I have been trying to get Homeowner Media to refund the money. I have been in contact with Tom Silionis (at least that is what he calls himself even though his email address is "tomt@homeownermedia.com") who is the same person that sold me on their services, and have been told that it was a mistake and that they are sending me the money. All I have been getting from them since then is lies, lies, and more lies. They have stopped returning my phone calls and emails.

Based on additional information that I have since learned about the company I have discovered that they are a fraudulent company and that they have no intention of returning the money. It appears they have set up a very elaborate scheme on line to get people to send them their account information. Don't send it... It is a scam, and they will take your money just as they have taken mine!!!
