Charged more than what was listed, never shipped order, fraud, no one answers phone or responds to email Internet

Internet & Web

I went to order a christmas present for my sister. I accidentally switched the billing and shipping address. I immediately called the phone number listed, and all I got was a message saying that all the operators were busy, and to leave a message. I left a message. I then immediatly sent an e-mail explaining that I switched the address, and for someone to please contact me to get this fixed.

It also said that I would receive an "e-mail confirmation"... Which I never received. The next day, I called two more times, got the same message, and left a voice mail message for someone to contact me, both times.

I noticed the day after I placed my order that I was being charged $72.67. I was supposed to be charged only $67 and change. The day after that, I noticed the "hold" for the $72 was gone. I figured it was because the billing address wasn't correct. So I figured they just wouldn't ship the order, so I decided to get something else for my sister.

I just went online to my bank account this afternoon, and noticed that the charge for $72 had in fact gone through! The website listed on the account was alliedw.com. So of course, I went to that website, and it says something about "see a charge on your credit card?" and it tells you to put in your name and it will do a search to see what that charge was for. When I put in my information, it said that no transaction was found. I called the number (the address listed was based in London, England!) and all I get was another message saying that no one was available.

I then started doing research and found out that this is a scam internet site, and basically all they do is charge your credit card. A few people reported that they actually got the merchandise, but it is just copied off of the tv, and really bad quality.

On DVDAvenue. Tv, there is a link for "live help". No one ever comes on. All it says is that all operators are busy and someone will be with you shortly. I've learned my lesson. I am going to go to the bank tomorrow and file a dispute for this charge. Even if I get my merchandise (which I doubt I will... I should have received it by now), they over charged me and no one ever responds to you, and I never got a "confirming e-mail". Someone has got to do something and shut these sites down. I'm just glad that I ordered one of the cheapest DVD's on the site!

Either way, I hope this helps other people not to order from that site or their "sister affiliates". I learned my lesson, that is all I can say. Don't trust the internet if it is something that hasn't been "officially released". I should have done my research first, and not after the fact that I got scammed. Don't let them take any more of our hard earned money!
