Digital ripoff Nightmare inadequate technical support. Shoddy, substandard equipment

In August of 1999 I purchased the eMachines eOne 500 PC, and it has been the biggest mistake of my entire life.in October of 1999, the PC broke so I was forced to backup all my files and send it back to them (which cost me $50).

In march of the new machine broke. I called them, and they had no record of me, so according to them, I had had no business with the company prior to my March phone call. After reiterating my problem and info, I backed my files up once again and shelled out another fifty bucks to ship it.

In August of the computer broke again (the same problem as the previous 2 times), but this time around, I learned I was getting a refund. I was happy, until two weeks later when a computer shows up on my doorstep.

I did some research and found that the code of Virginia (as well as FEDERAL REGULATIONS) deems unsolicited items as gifts, which meant that I was still legally entitled to keep my machine and receive my refund. I told them this, and they denied me my right under the law, saying it did not apply.

I figured after the hell they had put me through (not to mention the $150 spent on shipping, the countless long distance phone calls from home, the attitude from the staff, the hassle of backing up my files), they owed me something. They apparently disagree.

Not only do they sell shoddy, sub-par computer equipment, they make it worse by supplying excruciatingly inadequate technical support.
