Ebay seller ripoff

This Ebay seller sold me a 1gb stick of computer RAM which he called high density for $43.00 shipped. When i received it, i tested it in my computer and it didn't work. I then took the RAM to a computer tech friend of mine who subsequntly tested it with the same conclusion. I contacted the seller and had to return the RAM at a cost of $6.25 insured. When the seller received the RAM, he claimed it worked fine and that it was incompatible with my computer as it was "high density". I filed a complaint with PayPal and received the initial $43.00 back.

I later discovered that this sellers claim of "high density RAM" is a complete scam. I found an article on the net about "high density RAM" authored by the president of a computer tech company and it proved 2 things.

1. High density RAM has fewer than 8 chipsets per side (the one i received had 8.

2. DDR RAM (which is what i purchased) doesn't come in high and low density.

The seller fastmemoryman charges buyers all fees incurred (PayPAl & Ebay) from each transaction on returns. The seller also doesn't refund the initial shipping charge which is $9.95 (his actual cost $1.99) so he profits $7,96 on the defective sticks. Not to mention that the buyer is out return shipping charges as well.

I filed a new complaint with Ebay to prove that this seller and a few others doing the same thing with similar products were committing fraud but, no action on Ebays' behalf was taken. I later filed a complaint against him with the FTC and Ohio attorney general. That's where things currently stand.
