Ripoff Misleading eBay Sales Pitch Then They Steal Money From Your Bank Account

On 11 June I received an email offering "New" and "Importnat" information about how to sell on eBay. I was considering starting a seller account on eBay, so I paid the $4.95 to get the information. It was worthless in the sense that all of the same information was free right there on the eBay site in the seller information section.

To add insult to injury, on 21 June this company took $49.90 out of my checking account without me knowingly authorizing it because they claim that by purchasing this worthless information I agreed to pay them a monthly charge for their worthless service. I did not knowing do any such thing. I thought I had just wasted $4.95 and that was the end of it. Upon calling them to request a refund, I was told that they don't give refunds and that I should have called within the first 14 days of my FREE trail period, which I was totally unaware of, to request a cancellation of my account. The money is gone and I can't get it back. They were rude, and the woman I spoke with actually laughed at me.

From a legal standpoint, they should be liable for a refund because they have provided NO actual service and since the cancellation was made on 21 June they are taking money knowingly aware of the fact that they will be providing no value for it. That's fraud and theft. Even if a customer is liable for their "agreement", the first 14 Days were free. Any monies taken for service which won't be provided after that, is theft.

I also have to wonder if eBay is not complicit in this matter because I contacted them about it and received no response. You would think that a company that is as agressively protective of their name and copyrights as they are would take a more direct stance in dealing with a fraudulent organization that is using their name to steal from consumers.

I am filing a report with the FBI Internet Fraud Division and I will be using both Pacific Webworks, Inc a/k/a EAuctions, and eBay, Inc's name in the complaint.
