Apple Computer
OS X Jaguar Update, Rip Off of New Apple Customers. Worldwide

Internet & Web

I purchased a new iMac computer on July 7. I was aware of the potential for an update of the operating system so I asked at the time and was assured "although we do not know how it will work out yet, Apple always considers new computer purchasers when we issues software updates".

When I received the computer I was quite happy as this was confirmed by a set of three "Software Coupons" provided in the box which stated "To get Mac OS updates—and other special offers from Apple Computer—you'll need the coupons below as proof that you've purchased the Mac OS software."

The story now is: If you bought your new computer before July 17 you must pay the retail price.

Thus, I cannot get a discounted update to a major operating system release for a computer I purchased less than 5 weeks ago!

This is a rip-off and Apple doesn't give a dam! I am one of the "switchers" from the PC. I left 10 years ago because, although I loved the computer, the company did not care about its customers.

Its deja vu!!!
