My wife ordered me this camera kit for Christmas. After months of shopping online we agreed that notebookforless.com had the camera kit we were looking for at the most reasonable price. The week before Christmas we ordered the camera and received it just before Christmas.

We could have ordered the basic camera kit from many online stores. However, the basic kit included a lens that would not be sufficient for my purposes. The lens that I needed is several hundred dollars more than the one in the basic kit. So, we found several online stores that sold an upgraded kit that included the better lens.

After pricing these stores we agreed on notebookforless.com as the least expensive option.
When we received the package we realized that they had sent the basic camera kit that we could have purchased for $300-$400 cheaper elsewhere. The sole reason for paying the extra money and ordering from this company was to get the lens that I required, not the inadequate lens that we opted against.

We immediately emailed the company to inform them of the error. Despite the frustration of the situation we were totally polite and professional about our contact with them. A few days later we received a response that they realized their error upon shipping and would compensate us for the inconvenience as soon as they had the lens that I ordered in stock.

After three weeks without any further contact with them we emailed them again, restating the problem, and requesting immediate resolution. Again we got an apology but no action followed. This run-around happened for the next couple of months until we finally call them and receive the biggest insult of all. They said, " this order is five months old we aren't going to do anything about an order this old."

I explained, at length, to several people that I have been trying to get them to fix their error for five months. Now they will not accept my phone calls or return my emails. This company is your typical internet scam. They think that because their customers don't live in the area that they can't get to them. So, if they swindle their customers out of several hundred dollars and then refuse to rectify it, then the customer will never be able to retaliate.

Well, this is my attempt to retaliate. It may not resolve their gross negligence but it may save some other unsuspecting consumer from the nightmare of dealing with this company. This is not a case of a "hard to satisfy" customer whining. This company is a scam and has no corporate accountability for the business they transact. Beware!
