Amazon
One-click buying automatically took money out of my account without confirmin then cancelled my order and would not refund my money Ripoff

Internet & Web

I accidentally clicked on one-click buying at amazon.com and did not think i was actually buying a $200 item. When i realized that i had "bought" the item, i contacted amazon. At first they said they would refund my money and cancel my order.

They contacted the seller and cancelled my order, but they would not refund my money.

I contacted customer service several times and they told me because this was a "marketplace" account, the seller would have to refund my money, even though they told the seller NOT to ship my order.

The seller contacted me, and said he would not ship my order (as requested) and that Amazon would automatically refund my money because he marked that it would not be shipped in his account.

But Amazon said that it cannot refund my money. They could cancel my order, but they couldn't refund my money. So I'm out $200 and didn't even receive the item I "purchased". They took that money within seconds of my "placing the order", even though they say those orders can be refunded within 30 minutes. (i checked with my bank to find out about the timing of withdraw)

Not only that, but because of the "ease" of this 'one-click' shopping, i no longer had $200 in my account, causing me to have banking fees for overdrawing my account.

I do not believe that 'one-click' is a good business practice and i will never shop at amazon again. There was never a confirmation and nothing popped up on my screen telling me that i placed an order. I received an email 2 hours later confirming the order. That was not enough time for me to cancel the order.
