After being burned several times, my husband and I have finally come to the conclusion that all of the Real Estate Investing Gurus are the same. We have actually signed up for coaching/mentoring twice. We have done all of the assignments required and after the coaching phase was up, we were basically told, O.K. You are own your own. We have also lost count of the number of courses/educational materials we have purchased over the last several years.
The last straw was this morning when we received a call from "Devin", who was supposedly representing Jim Ross/Foreclosure Store/Foreclosure Town/Foreclosure World. We explained the problems we had encountered in the past and came right to the point and asked how much was this version going to cost. When we informed him that there was simply no way, no how we were going to "invest" another $5-10K, instead of being mature about our opinion, he rudely hung up.
This time I dial *69 to get the number and call him back. I explained how I felt about his lack of professionalism and told him that even if I get a call from a telemarketer while I am eating dinner, that I least treat the person on the other end of line humanely and tell them I am not interested and thank you for calling. "Devin's" response was well you told me that you were not interested and I was going to "push a parked car".
Not satisfied, I called the number again and asked for his supervisor. He was courteous and said that would into the matter and also apologized.
Bottom line, I just wanted to let one more person know my personal story. I hope this will prevent someone else from getting scammed like we were. I believe that with all of the educational materials we have collected over the years, we can still make our dreams come true. We will not give up!
