MaxAssurance
Replacement Protection Denied for Normal Wear and Tear Ripoff

I purchased a MaxAssurance one year extended warrenty for a Palm T/X handheld on October 10 from a local OfficeMax store for $29.99. On October 13 the screen began developing hairline fractures which caused gross image distortion. I have a hard protective cover for my handheld and have NEVER misused or dropped it although I use it continuously every day.
Since these hairline fractures were caused from normal wear and tear, I called MaxAssurance and was instructed to mail in the product using a mailer they e-mailed to me that same day and then expect a gift card within 10 to 15 days equal to the purchase price of the product.
Having not heard from MaxAssurance for eighteen days, I called MaxAssurance just to find out that my claim was denied because they "don't cover fractured screens." They also have not been able to locate the product that I sent in for replacement.
I will no longer buy extended warrenties OR products from OfficeMax.
