Ripoff Stole $160 of e-gold from me

Sure-Exchange.com advertised itself as a currency transfer agency. Since I needed to convert some e-gold, I opened up an account with them on October 25. On October 26, I transferred $160 of e-gold to my account with Sure-Exchange.com. E-gold conducted the transaction and verified that the e-gold had been transferred to Sure-Exchange.com. Once the transfer had been made, it should have appeared in my account with Sure-Exchange instantly.

After several hours, when the transaction had not appeared in my account, I sent Sure-Exchange an email notifying them of this. I got an email back the next day stating that they were sorry and were looking into the problem.By the end of the next day, I had not received a follow-up email from them so I sent them several emails and filled out both a support claim and a complain form on their site.

The next day I got an email from Sure-Exchange stating that they had sent me several emails and asking if I had gotten them. I replied to Sure-Exchange that there was no problem with me receiving their emails and if indeed they had sent me several emails, then why didn't they simply re-forward those emails so that I would know what the message was. After that email, Sure-Exchange ceased communication with me and they still have not given me my money.

Sure-Exchange is just a SCAM website opened up for the sole purpose of stealing unsuspecting people's e-gold. I notified e-gold of the theft and e-gold put a block on their account, however, these scam companies usually open up more than one account so they probably simply diverted any future customer's numbers to their other accounts. Just beware that Sure-Exchange.com is a scam website and will steal your e-gold. Only use a currency exchange that a friend or trusted business associate has used since these scam companies usually operate under several different names. Another thing, in my haste, I did do a little due diligence by doing a Google search to see if anything came up with their name. Nothing came up so I went ahead with the transfer.

However, one crucial step that would have alerted me to their being a scam would have been if I had gone to the website whois.com and done a search to see who owns that domain name. I would have discovered that the website was just opened on 10/19/06 and also they had listed a phone number as 555-1212 which everyone knows is an information number. I doubt if any information is correct on that domain application. Probably, the address and name of the person who opened it up is fake. I was stupid and as a result the crooks stole $160 of e-gold. I only have myself to blame but I sincerely hope that they don't do this to anyone else.
