Billing Problem Sent Straight to Collection Agency Charging $20 Per Transaction

I ordered two items through Amazon using a debit card. I don't know if I keyed in a wrong number somewhere, but apparently there was a problem debiting my account. Even so the merchandise was sent out to me and the bill passed on to a collection agency less than a month after my purchase. At no time did anyone from Amazon contact concerning my billing problem. Now the collection agency is charging me $20 per transaction!

I have tried emailing and calling Amazon with no satisfaction only frustration gained.
