I am writing to report a ripoff by a US company trading as Healthy Computer Club.
This company is advertising some software "PC Resue version 4.0" on the Internet as a free download. When the free download identifies problems with your PC, it tells you that in order to fix the problems you must buy and download the full version of the software. I did this on the 30th August authorising my VISA card for payment of 24.13.
Upon downloading the purchased software, it was apparent that the download was of the free version of the software as upon scanning my computer, the same message was displayed advising me that in order to fix the problems I had to purchase the full version of the software.
Subsequently I have attempted to contact the company Healthy Computer Club on numerous occasions by email. None of my emails have been answered. This afternoon I searched the internet for information on Healthy PC Club and have found to my dismay that they have a history of similar problems with their customers as listed on the usacomplaints.com Website.
The company address is Healthy Computer Club, 411 Brazos St #204, Austin, Texas 78701, U.S.A.
I wish I had checked out this website before authorising my VISA card.
