In March my wife began receiving phone calls at her employment suggesting things about her family that were not true. Attempts to use the caller ID number in discovering the identity became futile when discovered that the number was unlisted. Police were not interested unless there were threats against persons or property.

I began an internet reverse search in an attempt to discover the identity of the individuals and came across Intelius as an inexpensive resource in doing so. Using an ATM / Credit card I input the numbers and was delighted to have an address produced that corresponded with the phone number I had.

Being that the address was local I drove to it only to discover where once there existed a house with the house number identified, now was a convenience store / gas station. And it was not recently built, rather, had been there for about five years.

Upon re-contacting Intelius in an attempt to either get another address accurately connected to the phone number I had or refund my money, they told me that they had no interest in refunding any of my money. Their defense was that they had given me accurate information based on public records. They did not tell me how old these public records were though.

I claim that I had purchased a service and that the service was not provided thus dissolving the contract by their non receipt and that all money provided should be refunded to me. When I sent them an email requesting such they responded by rejecting me from the web account I made when purchasing the information I did not receive. There has been no other communication between Intelius & myself since this time.
