Online ripoff bought gift card and still can not activate

I purchased a $25.00 gift card online from Circuit City to send to my son for his birthday. I paid to have the card sent by Fed-X to get it there on time. It was supossed to be delivered on 11/11/05. Well Fed-X did not deliver it to him and I called Circut City and Fed-X to report this. Fed-X was very cooperative and gave me back my shipping cost right away.

Here is where the nightmare begins. Circut City sent out a new card to my son. When he received this card he tried to activate it. They told him this card was reported as missing.

I called Circuit City and tried to get this resolved. I was on the phone for 2 days solid for hours on end going from one person to another (all of whom did not speak english very well) I was even put on terminal hold for 25 minutes and had to hang up and start the whole process over.

On the third day of endless transfers I finally said that is I can not get this solved just give me back my money and I will send it to my son myself. They refused stating that the card was not reported as missing but had been used to purchase a $700.00 item. Well if it could not be activated how then was it used?

Now comes the sad part. My son called today and said he received the original card today. Still sealed in the Fed-X envelope. This card could not have been used either. I am doing a charge back as Circuit City still refuses to refund the original purchase.

Be warned if you try to contact them they will not give you an American number to call. They just keep sending you to different people who apparently do not anything about cutomer service. My son spend a lot of money at Circuit City and told me they just lost him as a custome
