Aol
America Online AOL ripoff unauthorized charges

Internet & Web

In I was charged $89.99 by AOL for a service I did not order. When I contacted them, they claimed I had signed up for the service in 1998, which was completely bogus (why would I sign up for something that didn't kick in for six year anyway?).

After numerous, numerous calls and arguing with idiot "customer service" representatives, AOL agreed to credit me with $83, prorating the amount for the time when I "used the service." I didn't fight over the $6.

Since I have seen others complain about practically the same issue, I have to wonder if this is deliberate fraud.

If there is anybody out there looking into this, please contact me.

Advice: Don't use AOL.
